About OSRAC

OSRAC, Old School Radio Amateur Club, represents a group of Dutch amateur radio operators who propagate and perform old school amateur radio. All contacts are in human operating modes. OSRAC was founded in 2025 and is an independent radioclub, not related to any of the national radioamateur leagues. It holds the club callsign PI4W .

Human modes are not robot or computer modes; they require real labour and are operator skill-intensive. Real operating practise is required. Perhaps not suitable for novice operators, but hard work and a lot of radio activity can transform a novice into an experienced human mode operator.

Find us on the bands durings contest, fieldday-operation, WWFF-operation, (holiday-style) expeditions or regular contacts. Of course in SSB or CW.

Our goal is ´....to participate in organizing competitions and other social activities directly related to radio amateurism. Participate in regional and possibly national social activities such as festivities by setting up an amateur radio station and providing information about amateur radio....´.

OSRAC Events

OSRAC holds several on-air events in human operating modes each year to encourage on-air activity and friendship. The activities of OSRAC consist of - among other things - contests, fielddays, WWFF-activation and special event activities. In many cases our special callsign PI4W will be used.

OSRAC members protect the future of the hobby by being active on a regular basis on as many bands as possible. OSRAC is all about promoting high standards of CW and SSB (human modes) operating and an on-air events programme reflects this.
